Simon, a global leader in retail, announced that Melissa Shoes will join the dynamic mix of tenants at Dadeland Mall this June. Additionally, Kay Jewelers has opened in a new space, and retailers Coach and Steve Madden will finalize their renovations this summer.
Brazilian label Melissa Shoes will open a 1,203 square-foot store near the main entrance, across from The Cheesecake Factory, in June 2015. The brand is known for their plastic jelly shoes that are more like works of art than everyday footwear. Their designs are colorful and include bright pink t-strap wedge sandals and flip-flops, bubbly clear “sneakers,” glitter-infused flats with zigzag patterns, and peep-toes in every color imaginable. Founded in 1971, Melissa continues to innovate by partnering up with creative collaborators such as architect Zaha Hadid, punk doyenne Vivienne Westwood, and daring dress designer Alexandre Herchcovitch. The designs are fun, odorless, comfortable and conveniently recyclable.
