|Prometeo Theater celebrated their 40th anniversary.

Teatro Prometeo at Miami Dade College is one of the country’s theater major success stories. This year, the only Spanish-language conservatory in the US turns 40 years old. Prometeo Theatre is a true cultural treasure, having produced and presented over one-hundred productions, as well as educating actors and contributing to the transformation of the Spanish theatre scene in the country.
Teatro Prometeo’s is the product of the artistic vision of Teresa María Rojas and the pedagogical vision of Miami-Dade College President Eduardo Padrón. Throughout the years, Prometeo has featured many Miami and U.S. premieres of local and international playwrights. This year alone, Teatro Prometeo has showcase plays in New York, Miami, Boston, Los Angeles, Dominican Republic, Peru, Ecuador and Bogota. Also, for the first time, Prometeo Theatre, took part in The Latina/o Theatre Commons National Convening of Latino/a Theatre-Makers, the largest formal gathering of its kind since 1986. The national event will be held at Emerson College in Boston with five satellite sites throughout the country.
