Venezuelan jewelry designer Maria Hamilton made the official presentation of her new jewelry collection “EVOLUTION” during the “Miami Beach International FashionWeek” at the Miami Beach Convention Center, located at 1901 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida from March 21- 24, 2012.
Having achieved the highest award in the 2011 MBIFW as “Emerging Jewelry Designer of The Year,” Maria Hamilton returned this year to launch her new collection “EVOLUTION” in front of the most important people in the fashion world. In addition, Hamilton’s designs also made their debut in the vast runway of Miami Beach International Fashion Week with “Petit Pois” by Viviana Gabeiras, Miami Top’s designer and 2012 winner of the “Prêt-A-Porter Style Award.”
Lissette Rondon, Founder of Miami Fashion Spotlight got an exclusive interview with this talented mother, wife, and entrepreneur who possesses a passion for fashion and displays it to the world through her innovative jewelry designs.

LR- Tell us a little about your new collection Evolution?
“‘EVOLUTION’ is a collection of fashion-forward designs in gold, leather, and silver with intricate details of diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and semi-precious stones. I called my collection “EVOLUTION” for the turn that I am taking with my personal style, materials, and my love for nature.”
LR- How did you feel making debut at the runway of MBIFW with Viviana G. from “Petit Pois?”
“It was an honor to collaborate with one of the most successful fashion designers, and also a ‘Prêt-A-Porter Style Award’ winner. I was proud as a designer and as a Venezuelan to share the runway with our beloved Viviana G,” said Hamilton.
LR- Is it true that when you design, you think about “Real Women?”
“Yes, I love designing one-of-a-kind pieces for all those hard-working women that still find their way to be fashionable,” added Hamilton. “I had designed for ‘movers and shakers’ women in Miami, such as Beth Sobol, Founder & President of Miami Fashion Week; Veronica Simpson, Film Producer and Celebrity Chef, Jackie Salas.”
LR- What is your next project?
“I am designing my next collection to be launched at Boston Fashion Week,” said Hamilton.
LR- Could you define your work and yourself with just 3 words?
“Creative, perfectionist, and versatile.”
