Ocean Drive’s Editor in Chief Jared Shapiro, fashionistas of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim, and many celebrities attended an exclusive soiree at the Surfcomber Hotel in South Beach on July 18, 2013 to celebrate the July/August 2013 cover of Ocean Drive Magazine featuring supermodel Hannah Davis.

The private event pampered its guests with delicious hors d’oeuvres from Social Club Restaurant and signature cocktails from Russian Standard vodka. Guests enjoyed music by DJ Supersede while they were able to preview the latest ‘Resort & Swim Collection’ by Trina Turk.

I had the opportunity to interview Jared Shapiro, the new Editor in Chief of the stylish magazine Ocean Drive, where he shared his insight about the event and Mercedes Benz Swim Week.

Shapiro was very excited that Ocean Drive magazine was one of the main sponsors of Mercedes Benz Swim Week.

“It’s just fantastic to see models, designers and beautiful people from all over the world flaunting the city of Miami and all the fashion shows. One of my favorite swimwear designers this year is Trina Turk– the one being featured here,” said Shapiro. “It’s a great time in the city and our magazine is a great reflection of whatever is going on in the city. Miami provides a great backdrop for what we do.”

Jared Shapiro, who has been the Editor in Chief of Ocean Drive Magazine for four months, shared with me the changes and improvements he has in store for the magazine as well as his future goals. “This magazine is fantastic already and I am very proud to be the editor of such a successful lifestyle magazine that features the essence and pulse of this trendy and hip city,” added Shapiro. “There’s such a big boom with the real estate, restaurant, fashion, art, beauty and entertainment that I want to capture all that in the pages of our magazine.”
