Hello Spotlighters, the Fall season is here, and we are embracing the lovely autumn. For me, Fall is about colors, and I am not talking about trendy fashion. I am talking about the colors of the pumpkins and the breathtaking Canadian trees when their leaves change their colors just to remind us that Thanksgiving is approaching!
Here, in our city of Miami, there are not many changes in the weather, so we are still in beach mode until sometime in January, when we enjoy our few cold days–that’s all we got. When it comes to fashion, many fashionistas that I know find in the swift of the season an opportunity to change drastically their styles and showcase those unforgettable pieces that they shopped for fall in their last trip to Europe or in a big sale… well, the light pieces.
Fall Season
During Fall, our city features a lot of events but there are not any major fashion events. Nonetheless, you must put your street style out there, right? Well, these are some of my favorite events: If you are a food lover, I recommend Miami Spice, of course! Still, you’d better hurry because it’s ending on September 30th. South Beach Seafood Week (Oct 16-20) is also coming up, and who doesn’t like seafood?! If you’re looking for fun, you can go to Miami Broward Carnival on Oct 7, 2018– and for people who love books like me, I recommend the Miami Book Fair from November 11-18; it’s priceless what interesting books you can find there.
It won’t be until December with Art Basel that our city brings back a little fashion again. Our team is already invited to the most important events of Art Basel from December 6 to Dec 9, 2018. The producers simply love the combination of art and fashion because together they deliver a beautiful crow–making these events the perfect closing to our fashionable 2018!
Fashion trends for Fall season and more…
Talking about fashion, you will read the fashion trends of this new season in our special article as usual. I already anticipate that the color of the season will be again the powerful red, a color that is associated with love and passion. However, be careful and don’t exceed wearing this color — some people say that too much red can raise your blood pressure. Like I always say in my articles, nothing in excess is good; balance is the key for everything in life, even in fashion.
For my first outfit of this season, I fell for a red off the shoulder ruffle dress by Badgley Mischka. And I decided to combine it with a subtle old rose booties. The combination is very romantic, and the old rose of the booties smooths the red. I am a fan of off-the-shoulder dresses and tops; I think that gives you a little touch of sexiness without showing too much skin. Don’t forget that you can get the look at my ShopStyle page if you like it!
Our Instagram handle has changed!
Regarding our Instagram account, I’ve got news! We have changed our Instagram handle to @miamifashionspotlight. The reason was that almost 80% of the mentions that my blog has been receiving at Instagram were @miamifashionspotlight. So, we decided to go with the flow and change it to make it easier for our followers. My handle @miafashinspot will continue to be mine but I will use it for personal proposes instead. Of course, you are more than welcome to follow my personal life too!
I almost forgot to tell you guys that recently I moved to Pembroke Pines. My husband and I decided to be homeowners again! We are starting to love the city too, almost as much as our house! The sunset over the lakes is stunning, the shopping malls are full of nice restaurants, and the streets are immaculately clean with stunning gardens everywhere. The lake in my backyard is gorgeous with fishes, turtles, ducks, and two romantics swans that make me feel inspired. It just feels like a blessing writing my articles here!
Have a Very Fashionable Fall Season!
Hope to see you at the events!

Red color is hot like a flame. It is considered one of the most eye catchy and boldest colors for fall season. I love using red color with black.
Powerful combination, Shella. I appreciate you stopping by and reading my blog.

As we all know, red is the main color for winter, this is the right time to do some shopping targeting only red color.
Oh, thank you Jade, we truly appreciate your feedback!
While wearing a red skirt, I prefer to keep the rest of my body fairly neutral. Adding some black and white pieces give a very awesome touch to the whole attire. You are right, red is the most trendy color this winter in Miami.
Hi, Candace. Thank you so much for your feedback ; ) Hope to see you in red soon!
