A Night of Symphonic Splendor: The Miami Symphony Orchestra’s Grand Season Finale
The Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts was aglow with the magic of music as the Miami Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Eduardo Marturet, delivered a Grand Season Finale on April 21st, leaving audiences enraptured with a symphonic journey like no other.
An Enchanting Prelude: Langsamer Satz and Mendelssohn’s Virtuosity

The evening commenced with a breathtaking rendition of Langsamer Satz by Webern, arranged masterfully by Maestro Eduardo Marturet himself. This ethereal opening set the tone for a night of musical brilliance. The spotlight of the first half shone on violinist KJ McDonald, a protege of the legendary Itzhak Perlman, whose performance of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor showcased not just technical prowess but a profound emotional depth that resonated with every note.
Symphonic Mastery: Sibelius’ Symphony No. 7 and a Thrilling Mystery Piece

The symphonic journey continued with Symphony No. 7 by Jean Sibelius, a masterpiece that highlighted the orchestra’s impeccable artistry and Maestro Marturet’s insightful interpretation. The climax of the evening arrived with the Mystery Piece, where Maestro Marturet surprised and delighted the audience with a special performance from Finlandia by Sibelius. The Mystery Piece Contest, sponsored by the Ritz-Carlton South Beach, added an element of excitement, offering attendees the chance to win a luxurious two-night stay.
