History repeats itself and the fashion industry is proof. Fashion is cyclical and if you are a fan of the 80’s and 90’s trends then it is time for you to rejoice. Here are some styles from the past that you’re going to see everywhere in 2018.
1. Oversized Hoops
Hoop earrings are a classic of ’80s and ’90s hip-hop and R&B fashion. Hoops are back once again and this time – the bigger the better.
Gigantic hoops are classic accessories that help in defining your features with both the shape and shade they create. The best characteristic of these earrings are that they can be worn with almost any outfit.
Think outside the box and select hoops in all metals and painted hues or go for double hoops. Unlike regular studs, larger than life hoops make one bold, statement earring.
This piece of clothing comes from the 19th century and it was specifically created for ladies who wanted to define their femininity. Apart from making a major fashion statement, they also give the appearance of killer curves.
Thanks to the Kardashians, corsets can now be worn as a daytime look. Layer a leather underbust corset over an oversized t-shirt to transform it into a dress or simply wear a corset dress for a defined waist and an hourglass shape.
Blame it on the latest athleisure trend but tracksuits are officially back. It’s the singular clothing item that can be worn in any season.
The key to styling them is elevating it so that it doesn’t look like you’re headed for a workout. Opt for tracksuits that are elegantly tapered or cuffed in fabrics such as wool jersey, cashmere and silk.
The once-forgotten tracksuit is so versatile that you can wear one anywhere, from casual breakfast to a party. Wear them with sneakers, combat boots or make them evening appropriate by pairing them with snakeskin booties or sexy heels.
4. Fanny packs
The fanny pack has made a comeback in a big way – as an accessory in high fashion. Try it in a bright color to brighten up even the most neutral of looks.
Wear a fanny pack in a cross body style or as a high waisted belt over a long coat to make a surefire statement. This has earned the bag a modern vibe. You can also wear it around the shoulder, like a normal handbag.
Leave your bulgy backpacks at home and go handsfree with this magical third piece that will tie your outfit together.
5- Fishnet Stockings
These classic tights are not only making a serious comeback but they’re taking new, innovative forms. Wear this diamond net trend to add a tough, fashion-forward edge to your outfit.
Wear them as an add-on by letting them peek out through your distressed jeans or show a few inches of fishnet just above your pants waistband.
Replace your boring tights by wearing fishnet stockings with denim minis and patterned outerwear to completely revamp your outfit.
