Must-Have | FENDACE: The Creative Exchange of Versace and Fendi

When we ask ourselves what is a “must-have”? Probably the first thing that comes to mind are the essential pieces and they are all right. You must have them because they are essential. But we need to talk about those collections that have been unique and unforgettable, created with such passion and artistry by iconic designers that have gone down in history for their originality—these designs have become priceless pieces that everyone wants to own. This is a real “must-have” for us!

This is the case of FENDACE: Our must-have collection for this edition!

FENDACE was the result of a collaboration and creative exchange between two iconic fashion houses: Fendi and Versace—or rather, two groups of iconoclastic people who have made this unique moment in fashion possible. FENDACE is a celebration of Italian fashion for many, representing freedom, fun, and virtuosity for both houses.

Cuando nos preguntamos qué es un “Must-Have”, probablemente lo que viene a la mente de muchos, son las piezas esenciales y tienen razón. Hay que tenerlas porque son esenciales. Pero, hablemos de esas colecciones que han sido únicas e inolvidables, creadas con tanta pasión y arte por diseñadores icónicos que han pasado a la historia por su originalidad– convirtiéndose estos diseños en piezas invaluables que todos quieren tener. ¡Esto es para nosotros un verdadero “Must-Have!”

Y este es el caso de la colección Fendace, ¡nuestra colección “Must-Have” de esta edición!

FENDACE fue el resultado de una colaboración e intercambio creativo entre dos casas de moda icónicas: Fendi y Versace—o, mejor dicho, dos grupos de personas iconoclastas que han hecho posible este momento único en la moda. FENDACE es para muchos una celebración de la moda italiana, que representa para ambas casas libertad, diversión y virtuosismo.

Crossing the partisan lines of luxury conglomerates and inspired by professional friendship and mutual respect, the double signature “FENDACE” is a swap with swapped roles. For the first time, Donatella Versace and Silvia Venturini-Fendi left their respective family homes to draw inspiration from each other’s vision, while Kim Jones, an expert at inhabiting and reinventing other people’s homes, pointed them to the road.

In this collection, Jones and Venturini-Fendi took on womenswear and menswear design, respectively, showing us their exceptional vision of Versace, while Versace took on design for everyone, showing us their inimitable interpretation of Fendi.

With the archives fully open to both houses, a unique cross-fertilization took place, with elements transposed from each one, prevailing the deep admiration for the codes and cultures of both, coupled with the mutual encouragement that allowed the designers to be themselves.

Cruzando las líneas partidistas de los conglomerados de lujo e inspirados en la amistad y el respeto mutuo profesional, la doble firma “FENDACE” es un intercambio, con roles intercambiados. Por primera vez, Donatella Versace y Silvia Venturini-Fendi se han alejado de sus respectivas casas familiares para inspirarse en la visión del otro, mientras que Kim Jones, quien es todo un experto en habitar y reinventar las casas de otras personas, les señaló el camino.

En esta colección, Jones y Venturini-Fendi asumieron el diseño de ropa de mujer y de hombre respectivamente, mostrándonos su visión excepcional de Versace, mientras que Versace asumió el diseño de todos, mostrándonos su inimitable interpretación de Fendi.

Con los archivos totalmente abiertos a ambas casas, se produjo una fecundación cruzada y única, con elementos transpuestos de cada una; prevaleciendo la profunda admiración por los códigos y culturas de ambos, aunado al estímulo mutuo que permitió que los diseñadores pudieran ser ellos mismos.

We must say that the results could only be achieved thanks to the mutual respect and mutual trust between the two fashion houses. “FENDACE” has been considered the result of the need for sincerity in the current fashion.

The show, which took place at the Versace headquarters in Via Gesù in Milan, was dedicated to Kip Sims, a very dear colleague and friend of Kim Jones, and the house of Fendi, where the pieces impressed all attendees by fusing the logos of both fashion houses. The belts were the main protagonists due to the FENDACE logo, as well as many other pieces that are still in our minds due to their exclusivity, and that deserved that we pass on the information to our readers!

Debemos decir que los resultados solo se pudieron lograr, gracias al respeto fundamental y a la confianza recíproca que existe entre las dos casas de moda. “FENDACE” ha sido considerado como el resultado que hay de la necesidad de sinceridad en la moda actual.

El desfile que tuvo lugar en la sede de Versace en Via Gesù en Milán, estuvo dedicado a Kip Sims, un colega y amigo muy querido de Kim Jones y de la casa de Fendi, donde las piezas impresionaron a todos los asistentes por la fusión de los logotipos de ambas casas de moda. Siendo los cinturones grandes protagonistas por el nuevo logo, al igual que muchas otras piezas que aún están en nuestras mentes por su exclusividad y que merecían que nosotros les pasáramos el dato a nuestros lectores.
