Every year, New York Fashion Week brings the best in fashion for fashionistas, editors, and followers around the world.
Thanks to social media, it is easier than ever before to follow our favorite designers at NYFW, or at other fashion weeks. We also can watch their live shows on our computers. And since 2016, we can even buy some of their collections immediately after the show.
As a fashion media, we must still be on site to get some stories, some collections that catch our eyes, or continue discovering more amazing designers in person.
Therefore, we have checked some of the fashion shows that our photographer, Humberto Vidal, attended. And we would like to put on our readers’ radars these 4 fashion lines. Four designers behind their brand that grabbed our attention due to their unique collections and accomplishments.
Most of all, four fashion lines we are sure you will love them!

DAN LIU
This Canadian designer grabbed our attention by singing at the end of his runway show at NYFW. He claims to get inspiration from his Chinese and Japanese heritage. DAN is best known for contemporary dresses with a romantic flair.
LANYU
The designer behind this brand is one of Asia’s most influential designers. She also has an impressive list of awards including “China’s Top Ten Designers” by the China Designer Association. Her headquarters is in Beijing, China, with representatives in Paris and around the world. Lan Yu’s pieces have been featured in celebrity clients at Cannes, Venice, and other red carpet events.
HAKAN AKKAYA
This designer becomes the first Turkish designer in “Who’s Next Paris” and “Bread & Butter” exhibitions. He has been participating in NYFW since 2012. This year, Akkaya got a great deal of attention by presenting his Fall/Winter 2017 Collection with looks within a black and white color scheme.
DENIBI BARCELONA & Its First New York Fashion Week
We fell in love with this Spain-based fashion line. The creator behind the brand is designer Fadel Denibi. He presented his first New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter Collection on February 11, 2017, at Pier 59 in New York City. The collection showcased bold pieces that stand out due to their sophisticated touch.
