Miami Swim Week has always been our favorite week of the year, and Planet Fashion has become our favorite event at Miami Swim Week 2018!
This Miami Beach based organization, led by fashion industry veteran Celia Evans, has been gaining a lot of attention through the years with its events. Its productions are great, delivering content and highlighting the exclusive world of luxury fashion from around the globe, including NY, Paris, Milan, London, and Miami, of course.
Planet Fashion & Women Empowerment
This year, The Planet Fashion showcased more than a dozen of the top designers throughout the weekend celebrating 2018’s empowerment of women at the iconic Loews Miami Beach Hotel.
We loved the runway shows and the whole organization. They truly know what they are doing! The beautifully coordinated runways featured international brands from Germany, Bulgaria, Jamaica, Switzerland, Venezuela, Trinidad, and Australia, as well as American brands from around the country, including Miami, Nashville, Chicago, and Oklahoma.

In line with the theme of 2018 is Lascana Swimwear “It’s a woman’s World.” Lascana is one of the largest brands presented at the Planet Fashion Swim Week shows this year. Taking notes from its parent brand, Venus Swimwear (one of the largest swimwear brands in the world), Lascana recently aligned with Alessandra Ambrosio to be the face of the brand. The vision of Akosha is to bring the future of bikinis to the present in every pool party setting. The bathing suits are hand-crafted in Miami Florida and inspired by the sexy women that thrive on the sun, sand, ocean, and opulent lifestyle.
Lion + Wild
This is a swimwear line that boldly aims at pushing past the norm and bringing out both your flirtatious and wild side. Created in 2018 by Heather Hilliard, a North Carolina native who moved to Miami to study Fashion Design at Miami International University of Art & Design. Living in Miami for six years, she loved how different, yet widely accepted, the fashion world is there and wanted to create something that she felt was missing in swimwear–being original and unique is the goal!
Roberto Cavalli & Planet Fashion!
This runway was announced as a surprise of the night! The collection showcased animal prints as signature pieces, along with pieces that highlight a palette of colors: Black, hot orange, gold, blue and white– the runway was a big hit!
