Viviana Gabeiras, creative director and owner of the brand Petit Pois by Viviana G, will be presenting two separate collections during Miami Fashion Week on Thursday, May 15.
The designer will present her Revolution 2014/15 collection as well as a capsule collection designed to compete against four other designers for the opportunity to be the new designer behind Eastern Airlines’ crew uniforms. Eastern Airlines, which recently announced that it will launch airlift from Miami later this year, has partnered with Miami Fashion Week as its principal sponsor. The winner of the design contest will take home a $25,000 award and a three-year contract with the company.
Inspired by The Matrix and Star Trek, Gabeiras presented a futuristic collection of five looks for the Eastern Airlines uniform. Long lines, contemporary looks, and bold colors characterize the designer’s feel for the presentation. With a factory in Miami where she’s able to assemble the entire production for the uniforms should she win the contract, Gabeiras is set apart as a strong competitor.
The designer will showcase a total of 20 looks during her Fashion Week presentation. The twenty looks will be a combination between her collection from Petit Pois by Viviana G and her recently launched label, Viviana Gabeiras. Inspired by the modern city of Berlin, their culture and social dynamics, Gabeiras aims to present a very sartorial collection with an European and modern feel.
The fusion between the two labels Viviana Gabeiras and Petit Pois by Viviana G, will bring drama to the runway as the audience will see the progression of both brands develop as the models walk the runway.
“What I want the public to experience as they see my runway show, is the transformation my brand is going through.” Says Viviana Gabeiras. “We are welcoming into our creative universe, the Viviana Gabeiras brand which showcases a new side of my aesthetic that strongly complements Petit Pois by Viviana G.”
