Every year Miami Beach International Fashion Week spotlights the best designers from around the world. 2012’s event brought a great deal of recognition to some of the best Miami-based fashion designers, among them Venezuelan designer Viviana G from “Petit Pois.”
Viviana G kicked off the runway of Miami Beach International Fashion Week at the Miami Beach Convention Center, on March 21st, 2012. Her remarkable collection, inspired by English singer Florence Welch, amazed the audience and led her to attain one of the highest awards at Miami Beach International Fashion Week, the “Prêt-A-Porter Style Award”.
Lissette Rondon, Founder of Miami Fashion Spotlight, got an exclusive interview with Viviana where she spoke about her muse, next projects, and more.
LR- Tell us a little about your Fall Collection that you are presenting tonight?
“I was inspired for this collection by Florence Welch. She is my muse this time. I love Florence because she is so eclectic. When I saw her pictures, read her stories, and heard her music I said: ‘This is going to be my fall collection.’ And she also wears my designs. I am please to design my collection inspired by her in the name of all women that are free spirited, and ageless,” said Viviana
LR- What are your next projects?
“ I will be going in a tour starting on April 12th with Atlanta Fashion Week, then Palm Beach Convention Center for Trendz Show, and back to New York for Fashion Week again at Moda Manhattan Show. In June, we will start with Dallas and Huston, TX; and then Los Angeles and San Francisco, California. I have plans to be able to show in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in July back in Miami Beach with my new Cruise/Holidays Collection.” added Viviana.
LR- Who are the celebrities that you are dressing tonight?
“We are dressing supermodel, Dasha (Face of Lancôme in Russia), three supermodels from Russia too, and Beth Sobol, Founder and President of Miami Fashion Week,” said Viviana.
LR- Could you define your work and yourself with just 3 words?
“I am a free spirit, ageless woman fighting for our rights!”
